Amsterdam Daze # 1

What a beautiful city! We were graced with gorgeous weather, as these pictures demonstrate, and I spent two days doing a lot of wandering as well as museum-hopping. For a big metropolitan city, Amsterdam sure maintains a cool, old world/new world vibe. There are, as far as I saw, no modern high-rise buildings. Everything is on a human scale. There are a few things the traveller does need to know, however, in order to survive here.....
Rule # 1: Never ever leave home without your map! The canals have different names, to be sure, but initially they all kind of look the same!
